Kyle Dreier AKA "Kyle Drier"

For years people have tried to spell my name as Kyle Drier. Seems logical but it is actually not logical to anyone with a little German spelling background. It's also funny how while you might try pronounce my last name as "Dreer", in Germany I was always addressed as "Drier." You have to consider that the second vowel is what gets spoken in German.

So, now that we have that out of the way let me tell you that I am suspicious of the telemarketer who calls and asks for "Kyle Dreer." If only telemarketers were provided with a little knowledge they might get my attention if they say "Is Kyle Drier there?" They might get my attention then.

Now, I think it's a good time to tell you why I have devoted an entire page to the distinction between Kyle Dreier and Kyle Drier. You see, search engines look for content such as this. I put some of my marketing efforts into how search engines find me. So, if I someone is looking to hire me and they inadvertantly spell my name as Kyle Drier then this page is designed to show up in the listing.

Why would I hope for an art director or graphic designer to find me? Art directors and designers hire photographers. I am a photographer. So, you now see the financial reason for my long winded "Kyle Drier" explanation.
