We recently produced the photography for this Ruby Tuesday drink and dessert menu. I love these projects—I get to work with a wonder client and a super crew—food and drink styling by Whitney Kemp and Teresa Blackburn and retouching by Tony Richardson just to name a few. We shot this in studio with the goal of making it look as though it were out on location at a Ruby Tuesday restaurant and bar.

I suppose this is where I should insert some clever quip about “happy hour” or the “drinks on me”…but I’ve got nothin’. I need to brush up on my puns or find someone to write my material.

Do you mind sharing your aperture setting on that wine shot?
Hmmm…aperture…I don’t recall but likely something around f/5.6. But, that’s with a medium format camera which makes for a different scenario than one would get out of a 35MM DSLR. Is is the bokeh you like? I also use tilts and swings with the camera to do selective focus. Don’t get me started, I’ll run on and on with all the variables we like to manipulate to get what we and the client desire. And, don’t forget about chocolate. Yes, that’s a great way to keep everyone happy. :)
I’m surprised the shots aren’t more blurry. If I were shooting those fantastic adult beverages, I’d have some camera-shake going on.
Ha! Yes, but there’s just not attraction to alcohol at 9 am for me. Now, when the desserts hit the set it’s a whole different story…away goes my self-control. :)
